Gunfire incident near Ventimiglia's migrant camp.
In the picturesque town of Ventimiglia, Italy, two separate emergencies have shaken the community within a 24-hour period.
Yesterday evening, a foreign citizen, approximately 30 years old, was injured by a gunshot on Via Tenda. The victim, believed to be a Tunisian national, was treated with a medium severity code before being admitted to the hospital. The name of the perpetrator has not been disclosed at this time.
The incident occurred near a migrant camp on the banks of the Roja River, an event that has led to increased tension in the nearby Gianchette area.
Just hours later, this morning, another emergency unfolded in the same area. An 18-year-old victim was found in a state of hypothermia, having fled the scene of a rock-throwing incident. The young person was taken to the hospital in "code red."
The rock-throwing incident appears to involve rival groups, with the details of those involved still under investigation. This incident is a separate occurrence from the previous night's attack.
Both victims are believed to be Tunisian nationals, and the location of the new incident remains in the Gianchette area of Ventimiglia.
Investigations are ongoing to determine the details of the attacks and those involved. The community hopes for peace and resolution as they navigate these challenging times.
