Grocery store Sedano's now accepts Over-the-counter (OTC) and Flex Benefit cards as payment methods in-store.
In a move aimed at making it easier for customers to use their benefits, Sedano's Supermarkets, the largest independently owned Hispanic supermarket chain in America, has announced that they now accept OTC (Over-the-Counter) and Flex benefit cards at all of their store locations in Florida.
Pedro Mesa, the director of marketing at Sedano's, stated, "This move is to help our customers easily use their benefits to bring home fresh, quality foods." The initiative is one way Sedano's is helping their community live healthier, happier lives.
Eligible members can use their OTC and Flex stipend to purchase approved food items in Sedano's stores. These approved items include fruits, vegetables, dairy products, and whole grains. This new offering aims to help members stretch their benefits and prioritize wellness at the grocery level.
Sedano's Supermarkets was founded in 1962 by the HerraΜn and Guerra families and serves Florida's multicultural communities with 32 stores and over 3,000 employees. The stores are located in Miami-Dade, Broward, Orange, and Osceola counties.
This news comes as Walmart has also recently announced a digital service for Medicare Advantage customers, indicating a growing trend towards health-focused grocery offerings. Sedano's initiative, however, is unique in its focus on serving the needs of seniors and caregivers managing special dietary and medical needs.
Mesa added, "We are committed to supporting the well-being of our customers, and this new offering is just one way we are doing that." With this move, Sedano's continues to demonstrate its dedication to helping its customers live healthier lives.
