Grant of public funds was acknowledged by the Commission, intended for the company's restructuring process.

The Technical Relief Agency (THW) of Bavaria, a federal operational organization carried by volunteers with around 88,000 volunteers nationwide, has been deployed to support the fire department in Thuringia and Saxony since last Wednesday.

In the summer of 2025, local THW units from Bavaria, including Selb, Mellrichstadt, Marktredwitz, Bayreuth, Kirchehrenbach, Forchheim, and Aschaffenburg, provided assistance during severe forest fires in the Gohrischheide (Saxony) and Saalfelder Höhe (Thuringia) regions. Approximately 1,700 personnel from around 45 Ortsverbände were involved in this mission.

Currently, around 50 Bavarian THW personnel are deployed in Gohrischheide, with no further information about the mission's objectives or the nature of the forest fires being provided. The THW team from Kronach, part of the Upper Franconia assistance contingent, left for Thuringia last week.

The THW's role includes ensuring smooth and targeted operations, providing expertise, technology, and experience. They have set up a supply area that can provide thousands of deployment forces from the fire department and other aid organizations with necessary resources. The THW is also supporting leadership and coordination tasks at the deployment sites, as well as catering for around 600 deployment forces.

The high-performance pumps of the THW, loaded onto trucks and ready for deployment to Saxony at short notice, are on standby. They traveled with two water transport containers with a capacity of around 10,000 liters.
