ShareChat Appoints Neha Markanda as Chief Business Officer

Neha Markanda, a seasoned professional with over 22 years of experience in consumer goods and technology companies, has joined ShareChat and Moj as the Chief Business Officer. Her appointment, effective immediately, marks a significant milestone for the Indian social media company.

Ankush Sachdeva, the CEO and co-founder of ShareChat and Moj, welcomed Markanda to the team. In her new role, Markanda will oversee revenue strategy, strengthen partnerships, and drive growth across the platforms.

Markanda's extensive expertise includes brand building, understanding of marketers' problems, and a proven ability to deliver business growth. Her previous employers include Google, Meta, GSK Consumer Healthcare India, PepsiCo, ITC Limited, and HCL Technologies. At Google, she served as the head of industry for e-commerce, and at Meta, she spent nearly three years as head of business marketing.

At Google, Markanda also led the company's health strategy and spearheaded AI-driven solutions in retail and health tech. This experience is expected to be valuable in her new role at ShareChat and Moj, as the company aims to further expand its digital network in India.

ShareChat and Moj are among the largest digital networks in India, with a combined monthly active user base of over 325 million. The parent company, Mohalla Tech, has recently achieved EBITDA profitability and is pursuing a revenue run rate of more than Rs 1,200 crore this year.

Markanda succeeds Gaurav Jain, who stepped down from his position as chief business officer in June. Jain expressed confidence in Markanda's ability to lead the business operations of ShareChat and Moj, stating that her expertise and passion make her the perfect fit for the role.

Markanda expressed her excitement about the opportunity to strengthen cultural connect and partner with regional creators on ShareChat and Moj. She looks forward to contributing to the company's growth and success in the Indian market.
