The LIV Golf League is heading into its penultimate event in Chicago, and the competition is heating up. Two of the top contenders, Sergio Garcia and Dustin Johnson, share the lead after the first round.

Sergio Garcia, who has been making changes to his equipment throughout the year, returned to using the Scotty Cameron Del Mar 3.5 putter for the LIV Golf Chicago event. This marks his fourth putter switch this season, following a series of consecutive changes. In the past, Garcia has used various Scotty Cameron models, including the LAB Golf Mezz Max and the Golfyr The Maker.

Johnson, on the other hand, has swapped his TaylorMade QI10 3-wood for a TaylorMade R7 Quad Mini Driver in Chicago. This is not the first time Johnson has changed his equipment this year; he has been known to regularly switch up his clubs.

Bryson DeChambeau, another top contender, has also been making changes to his equipment. For the LIV Golf Chicago event, he has changed his golf ball to a prototype Titleist Pro V1x. Previously, DeChambeau had been using the Titleist Pro V1x Left Dash golf ball.

Cameron Young, the winner of the Wyndham Championship, used the Titleist Pro V1x Double Dot golf ball in his victory.

Meanwhile, Paul Casey has switched his irons for a third consecutive event, moving from the Titleist 620 MB to the Mizuno MP-5. Thomas Pieters has also made a change, switching his driver shaft from a Mitsubishi Diamana WB 73 D to Fujikura Ventus Black 7X.

As the LIV Golf Chicago event progresses, it will be interesting to see if these equipment changes will translate into continued success for the players or if they will lead to unexpected results. Stay tuned for updates from the penultimate event of the LIV Golf League.
