Golden Altai Festival 2026 Unites Rural Youth with Top Creative Mentors

The Golden Altai Culture and Arts Festival will take place from May 25 to 31, 2026, across the Chemal and Shebalino districts of the Republic of Altai. Organised by the Altai Republic Development Corporation, the event aims to support rural youth by offering them professional growth in creative fields. Over 500 participants from five districts will gather to showcase their talents and learn from industry experts. The festival will bring together more than 60 master classes led by specialists involved in major federal projects like The Voice, Dance on TNT, and Come On, Everyone Together! Rural children and young people will train alongside these professionals, gaining skills in vocals, music, and dance. The programme also includes a musical evening, a literary terrace, and a series of workshops.

Over the past year and a half, the Golden Altai project has grown rapidly. Three festivals have already taken place, engaging over 2,000 participants in total. The most recent event in Mayma district saw a fivefold increase in attendance compared to earlier editions.

The grand finale will be a gala concert on May 31, 2026, at the Shebalino Village Cultural Center. Children and invited experts will perform together, marking the end of the week-long celebration. The festival has already earned recognition, receiving a letter of gratitude from Russia’s Minister of Culture, Olga Lyubimova, for its role in developing rural cultural initiatives. The Golden Altai festival seeks to create a lasting creative community in the Altai Mountains. By connecting rural youth with leading specialists, it provides access to in-demand careers in the arts. The event’s success so far suggests growing interest in cultural development across the republic’s rural areas.
