Gold price skyrockets by Rs3,600 per tola, hitting a record high in Pakistan

In a significant development for the local market, gold prices saw a substantial increase on Saturday, according to the All Pakistan Gold and Jewellers Association (APGJSA). The gold price per tola in Pakistan reached an all-time high of Rs367,400, marking a rise of Rs1,200 from the previous day's rate of Rs363,800.

Abdullah Chand, a spokesperson for APGJSA, confirmed this new record, stating, "This is indeed a new all-time high for gold prices in Pakistan."

The increase in the local gold market was accompanied by a rise in the international market. The international gold rate per ounce gained $36 today, reaching a new record high of $3,447. This premium of $20 over the standard rate makes the international gold price per ounce currently stand at $3,467.

The previous all-time high for gold price per tola in Pakistan was recorded on April 22, 2025, at Rs363,700. The silver price per tola also saw an increase, rising by Rs81 to reach Rs4,202.

Gold was sold for Rs314,986 per 10-gram as per the APGJSA rates. The increase in the gold price in Pakistan was in line with its gain in the international market, reflecting the global trend in gold prices.

It is worth noting that the record high for gold prices in Pakistan on April 22, 2025, was part of the global gold price record, reported by various financial and news institutions monitoring market activity. However, no specific person or institution was uniquely credited for establishing this record in Pakistan on that exact date.
