Track and field team Brossart clinched the Class 1A Region 4 championship on Tuesday, rankings first or second in a total of 18 events. With a score surpassing the cumulative points of the following two teams, the Mustangs lifted the region championship trophy.

Brossart Dominates Class 1A Region 4 Track and Field Championships

Brossart High School once again reigned supreme at the Class 1A, Region 4 Track and Field Championships, securing their fifth consecutive victory in the girls' division. The boys' team also clinched the top spot, amassing an impressive total of 150 points.

The meet, held recently, saw a host of individual victories for Brossart. Ava Walters, a talented junior, added another title to her collection by winning the discuss event. Tripp Wilson, a sophomore, soared to victory in the triple jump, while Zoey Woosley, a senior, claimed the 100-meter hurdles. Joe Schroeder, a senior, added the shot put event to Brossart's tally, and Alex Combs, a senior, won the high jump. Peyton Trauth, another junior, added the long jump event to Brossart's impressive list of victories. Anna Curtsinger, a sophomore, showed her prowess in the pole vault.

The boys' team had a standout performer in Charlie Ford, a senior. He dominated the sprint events, winning the 100 and 200 dashes, and also placed first in the long jump. His outstanding performances earned him a total of 38 points for NewCath.

Mark Antrobus, a senior from Villa Madonna, was another double gold medal winner, securing victories in the 4×800 relay and 1600 run. Broady Aylor, a junior from Beechwood, also impressed with a second-place finish in the 200 dash.

Beechwood and Newport Central Catholic put up a strong fight, finishing second and third respectively. Beechwood's Lily Parke, a junior, swept the 800, 1600, and 3200 events, while Caroline Nordman, a sophomore, won the 200 and 400 dashes. Beechwood also won the 4×100 and 4×200 relays.

St. Henry also had its share of victories. Hayden Harlan, a sophomore, won the high jump event, and Lizzie Casey, a senior, triumphed in the triple jump. Stella Flick, a freshman, added another victory for St. Henry in the 300 hurdles.

Marcello Herald, a senior from Bellevue, was a consistent performer, placing first in the 110 and 300 hurdles, and second in the long jump, scoring 32 points for his school.

In conclusion, the Class 1A, Region 4 Track and Field Championships saw a fierce competition, but Brossart's consistent performances and impressive victories secured them the top spot in both the boys' and girls' divisions.
