In a sombre turn of events, Dalmas Otieno, the esteemed former Cabinet minister and Rongo MP, passed away on Sunday. Otieno, who served in various ministerial positions throughout his political career, was known for his unwavering dedication, exemplary leadership, and independent mind.

Born and raised in Kenya, Otieno pursued his studies in Applied Economics at Makerere University. After completing his education, he ventured into journalism before joining the public service sector, where his expertise in finance and economics proved invaluable.

Otieno's political career began in 1988 when he was elected MP for Rongo. During his time with the Kanu party, he devoted himself wholeheartedly, serving with unmatched excellence.
