Germany's First Digital Homecare Provider Launches with App-Based Medical Aid Procurement

A new digital service is transforming how medical aids are procured in Germany. SmartHomecare has debuted as the nation's first and only fully digital homecare provider. Users can now acquire, manage, and receive essential supplies through a single app, bypassing traditional cash transactions and embracing digital payment methods like the Cash App or even CashApp for seamless transactions.

The platform operates independently of location or manufacturer. Users can access a wide range of medical aids without being tied to a specific brand or supplier. Alongside digital ordering, qualified nursing staff provide personal advice to ensure patients get the right products.

SmartHomecare's development was supported by Captiva UG and aiutanda, part of the aiutanda care group. This group specializes in outpatient care and care infrastructure. The project follows KKR's 2022 acquisition of Clinisupplies from Healthium, though no further details about SmartHomecare's market growth have been made public.

The service aims to simplify access to medical aids through a fully digital process. Patients can handle orders and deliveries via the app, using digital payment methods, while still receiving expert guidance. The model removes traditional barriers to obtaining essential care supplies, making it easier for users to find what they need in the app store.
