German Turner Association Announcement
Germany Launches Revamped European Week of Sports Campaign
The German Gymnastics and Sports Federation (DTB) has unveiled a new campaign for the European Week of Sports, marking the initiative's 10th anniversary. The DTB, which has been the national coordinator of the campaign since 2016, developed the campaign in-house.
The aim of the campaign is to motivate people across Germany to adopt a more active lifestyle. The two central target groups are organizers of events and participants, particularly those with little daily movement.
The campaign is co-financed by the European Union (EU) and additionally supported by the Federal Ministry of the Interior (BMI) in Germany. It will have a strong presence, with a design inspired by successful sports brands and using surprising, humorous, and activating messages to encourage interaction.
The new campaign will be more visible, modern, and relevant, both online and at events. It kicks off with initial measures and actions under the hashtag #BeActive as early as September 1. The European Week of Sport itself takes place annually from September 23 to 30.
The DTB, with its extensive network of clubs, diverse movement offerings, and long-standing experience, is an ideal partner for implementing the EU-wide movement campaign. Comprehensive support and communication materials will be provided for organizers.
Every institution, club, school, and company can become part of the campaign by organizing an action day, open training session, or low-threshold movement offer. The campaign aims to be more visible and engaging, with a series of striking, eye-catching slogans and a mix of digital and classic measures.
Promoting movement, sport, and an active lifestyle remains a central societal task. According to Eurobarometer, more than half of European adults are not physically active enough. The DTB's new campaign for the European Week of Sport, handled by the Berlin agency DieckertJones, aims to address this issue and inspire people to lead more active lives.
The campaign slogans revolve around the well-known hashtag #BeActive for its 10th anniversary. The DTB launched the new campaign in celebration of the initiative's ten-year anniversary, focusing on motivating people across Germany to live more active lifestyles.
