County of Gütersloh to Participate in Nationwide Civil Defence Drill on September 11, 2025

On September 11, 2025, the County of Gütersloh will take part in a nationwide Civil Defence Drill in Germany. This annual event, organised by the Federal Office for Civil Protection and Disaster Assistance (BBK), is designed to test the preparedness of local authorities for emergencies and ensure comprehensive population information in case of an actual emergency.

The Civil Defence Drill, also known as the Warning Day, aims to check the technical functionality of warning systems and raise public awareness about warnings. The test alarm will be triggered by the BBK at 11 am on September 11, 2025.

During the drill, the population will be alerted via various channels, including sirens, the modular warning system (MoWaS), radio stations, app servers, warning apps like NINA, and the Cell Broadcast System on mobile phones. The test alarm will consist of multiple tone sequences, each followed by a five-minute pause.
