Geisa’s Gangolfsberg Park to Undergo Historic Revitalization Next Week

Geisa has initiated a significant project to restore and redesign its historic Gangolfsberg City Park. The work, commencing next week, will be funded by both the Thuringian State Government and the European Regional Development Fund. The park, renowned for its cultural landmarks like the medieval Zentgericht and the Chapel of St. Gangolf, will undergo transformations covering approximately 3,100 square metres of pathways and open spaces. The plans include barrier-free paths, 18 new benches, additional trash bins, and bike racks. The tree population will also be carefully maintained and adapted to preserve the park's character.

Upon completion, the restored park will complement the nearby historic castle complex and foster local development. The enhancements aim to elevate the quality of life for residents while drawing more visitors to Geisa and the surrounding area. The project will also fortify the town's cultural and architectural heritage.
