Lena Ludwig Honoured at Aschaffenburg Town Hall

Lena Ludwig, a successful swimmer from Aschaffenburg, was honoured at a reception held at the town hall on August 28, 2020. The event was organised by the city of Aschaffenburg and the City Sports Association to celebrate Lena's sports accomplishments and outstanding achievements.

Mayor Jürgen Herzing, Helmut Maier, the head of the sports department, and Karlheinz Stegmann, the 1st Chairman of the City Sports Association, were among the dignitaries present at the reception. During his speech, Mayor Herzing presented a gift and a donation to Lena Ludwig.

Lena Ludwig, who is a two-time silver medalist, competed in eight events at the Junior Swimming World Championships in Otopeni, Romania. She placed 8th in the 50m breaststroke event and won 2nd place in both the 100m and 200m breaststroke events.

The occasion also served as an opportunity to discuss the future of swimming in Aschaffenburg. Mayor Herzing promised to discuss the possibility of building a 50-meter pool in the responsible senate, a great wish of the swimming club SSKC Poseidon. According to youth coach Svenja Lotz, the interest in swimming training is currently too high for the club to accept new children.

The Ludwig family, including Lena, attended the reception. Lena's success in swimming has brought pride to her family and the entire city of Aschaffenburg. The construction of the 50-meter swimming pool for the SSKC Poseidon swimming club at the Senate remains unspecified in the provided information.

The reception was a fitting tribute to Lena Ludwig's achievements and a testament to the city's commitment to supporting its young athletes. As Lena continues to excel in her sport, the community looks forward to seeing what the future holds for this promising young swimmer.
