Refrath Table Tennis Team Aims for Away Win Against Niederkassel
The Refrath Oberliga reserve table tennis team will be looking to turn an away loss into a win when they face TTG Niederkassel on February 18, 2023. The team, currently battling relegation, is determined to secure a much-needed victory.
In their recent matches, the team has seen a mix of results. Captain Jakob Eberhardt won one singles match against Marius Huber but lost to Pascal Altmann. Youngster Jamal Oudriss, however, shone brightly, winning both his singles matches against Pascal Altmann and Marius Huber. Unfortunately, David Pfabe and Lars Pimmer both lost their singles matches.
The team's performance in doubles matches has been impressive, with Dirk Brüggemeier and Fabian Wahl winning both their doubles and singles matches in the lower pair. The doubles pairing of Eberhardt and Oudriss also secured a win.
The team's form has been commendable, as evidenced by their 9:6 victory over TV Dellbrück. However, their match against 1.FC Cologne has been a mixed bag, with a 3:7 away loss followed by a 8:2 home win.
Eberhardt, the team captain, praised his team's focused performance and expressed his anticipation for the upcoming match against Niederkassel, stating that they are the top favourite of the league. He also expressed hope that David Pfabe will be more or less fit by Saturday.
Fabian Wahl, another team member, described the team's performance as good, particularly the form of Jamal Oudrath and the lower pair. He expressed his optimism about the team's chances against Niederkassel.
The NRW league table is close, with Refrath, Dellbrück, Niederkassel, and Grevenbroich all close in points. A win against Borussia Düsseldorf in their next match on March 4, 2023, could help alleviate Refrath's worries about relegation.
