Gambling Addiction Awareness Day focuses on children in struggling families

This year's National Gambling Addiction Awareness Day will shine a light on children from families struggling with problem gambling. The event in Solingen aims to raise understanding and offer support through expert discussions and personal stories.

The Caritas Addiction Counseling Center's gambling support service in Solingen is organising an expert discussion on the issue. It will take place on Wednesday, September 28, between 10:00 AM and 12:00 PM at St. Sebastian Church in Solingen-Ohligs.

Natalie Becker, a specialist from Solingen Addiction Counseling, will lead the session. She will cover different forms of gambling, diagnostic criteria, and the biopsychological effects of addiction. The talk will also outline available support options for those affected.

A person with direct experience of gambling addiction will share their story. Their perspective aims to highlight the real-life impact of the problem on families and individuals.

The event provides a chance for the community to learn about gambling addiction and its consequences. Attendees will gain insights into prevention, diagnosis, and support services. The focus remains on helping children and families affected by this issue.
