Fugitives Wanted for Deadly Shooting at Seminole Hard Rock Casino

Police are still investigating a deadly shooting that occurred outside of Florida's Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood earlier this weekend. A man was shot in the chest near the gaming property around 4:30 a.m. on Saturday. The victim was taken to Memorial Regional Hospital, but eventually succumbed to his injuries.

It's believed that a passenger in a vehicle fired the shot that wounded the pedestrian. A disagreement between the shooter and others had led to the incident. The suspects then fled the scene in their vehicle. So far, police have been unable to locate the getaway car.

A witness interviewed by local TV station WPLG noted the increasing frequency of incidents at the casino. "It seems to be happening more and more, all the time," the patron said. "You get a big crowd like this together nightly, and something is bound to happen."

The Seminole Tribal Police have been looking at surveillance footage and reaching out to potential witnesses to identify the suspects. As of now, no one has been arrested. The motive behind the argument and the reason for the shooting remain unclear. Additionally, few details have been released about the victim.

This isn't the first incident of a shooting at the casino. According to a news report from January, a man named Christopher Storliel, 47, took his own life at the same location. Police found his body on the casino's property. Storliel had earlier fired a gun at a Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper in Carter County, Missouri. No one was injured from the gunshots, but several of them hit a police vehicle.

The incident began when a trooper attempted to pull over a Cadillac Escalade after the driver didn't signal. The suspect drove off instead, and stopped the SUV a short time later. Storlie then shot at the trooper. The highway patrol shared this account of the events.

Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood is a resort/casino that's managed by Hard Rock International, which is owned by the Seminole Tribe of Florida.

Hollywood is approximately eight miles southeast of Fort Lauderdale.
