Marla Svenja Liebich, a well-known far-right activist in Germany with a criminal record, is currently in the Russian Federation, where she is holding talks with Kremlin-associated officials. The specific identities of these officials have not been disclosed in the available information.

Liebich's legal files are being transferred to a law firm in the USA, indicating her intention to apply for asylum. This decision comes after she was sentenced to probation and community service for incitement of the people and defamation of Green politician Renate Künast and former SPD leader Martin Schulz in 2022.

In a surprising turn of events, Liebich did not report to begin her prison sentence on Friday, August 28, 2025. A statement was made by a police spokesperson that Liebich feels unwell and has been taken to a third country.

This is not the first time Liebich has made headlines for avoiding her sentence. Initially, she stated on platform X that she is not beginning her sentence due to being misogynistically insulted, defamed, and smeared by authorities, the prosecution, and the press.

Liebich's criminal history also includes a conviction for incitement of the people and sentencing to 18 months in Chemnitz Prison on August 30, 2025. A protest outside Chemnitz Prison was attended by right-wing extremist supporters of Liebich.

It is worth noting that Liebich has a change of gender entry and name due to the self-determination law passed by the previous coalition government. The Saxon prison regulations typically house men and women separately, but allow for individual exceptions based on the prisoner's personality and needs.

As the situation continues to unfold, it remains to be seen what the future holds for Marla Svenja Liebich and her legal proceedings both in Germany and the USA.
