Fugitive driver abandons crash site
On August 20th at 3 PM, a hit-and-run accident occurred at the junction of an asphalted farm track and a gravel path in Euskirchen-Kirchheim. The incident involved a 62-year-old man on a pedal-assisted bicycle, two children, and another vehicle, an unidentified car.
The 62-year-old man was traveling from Hardtwald towards Arloffer StraΓe when the driver of the car suddenly pulled out, causing the bicyclist to swerve and lose control. As a result, the man was injured and was taken to a hospital by ambulance. Fortunately, the two children involved in the accident were unharmed.
Another vehicle, an unidentified car, was traveling on the gravel path at the time of the accident. The car involved in the hit-and-run is a black Mini SUV. The fleeing driver, an unknown male estimated to be between 35 and 40 years old, has not been identified by the police.
