Freshly opened business in Rathausstraße named "brocanterie"
The city of Lippstadt is welcoming a new addition to its vibrant city centre with the opening of "Brocanterie", a unique retail store selling design classics from the 60s and 70s. This inspiring concept, brought to life by Kristin Wichert, fills a vacancy and complements the existing offerings in the area.
The establishment of Brocanterie was made possible through the "Future-proof Cities and Town Centers" (ZIO) funding program, which aims to reduce vacancies and support start-ups. The funding program offers financial assistance for renovations, intending to complement the city's offerings and create meeting points for culture and sustainability.
Kristin Wichert, an avid collector of furniture, lamps, and design objects, is the owner and landlord of the store's location at Rathausstraße 20. If necessary construction measures are carried out, the city can cover up to 50% of the costs for renovations.
Leon Brintrup, the center manager, and Holger Gebauer from the economic development department expressed their pleasure about the successful mediation of Brocanterie. Interested parties should contact Leon Brintrup at 02941 980 431 by latest December.
The store will provide space for pop-up offers, readings, living room concerts, and workshops focused on sustainability and new perspectives. Initially, the store will be open on Thursdays from 2 PM to 6 PM, Fridays from the same hours, and Saturdays from 10 AM to 4 PM. The official opening of the store is scheduled for September 12, 2025.
The funding program also relieves new business owners of rental costs, making it an opportunity for new businesses to thrive. The Future-proof Cities and Town Centers funding program continues to support such initiatives, contributing to the revitalization of city centres and the growth of local start-ups.
