FC Bayern Munich Women's Bundesliga Kick-off Approaches

FC Bayern Munich is gearing up for the start of the women's Bundesliga season, with their opening game scheduled against Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday at 5:45 PM. The match will be broadcast on ARD and MagentaSport.

The team, which usually plays in the much larger Allianz Arena for top games, will be hoping to attract a crowd of at least 25,000 spectators to avoid financial losses, according to Bayern president Herbert Hainer. This is a significant challenge, as the majority of their games are played in a stadium on the FC Bayern Campus, which has 2,500 seats.

One of the key players for FC Bayern Munich is Georgia Stanway, who is looking forward to more appearances in the Allianz Arena in the future. Another player set to return for the opening game is Lena Oberdorf, who made a comeback in the Supercup after recovering from an injury. However, Giulia Gwinn, the DFB captain and another crucial player, is not yet ready to play in the opening game due to her recovery from a cruciate ligament injury suffered at the European Championship.

Jose Barcala, the Bayern coach, has expressed gratitude for the talent and tactical solutions available in the team. While he has declined to name specific players who will start in the opening game, he has emphasized the importance of staying alert against the ball against Bayer Leverkusen. Giulia Gwinn, who is close to returning from her inner band injury, has already started partial training with the team, and her imminent return to the squad is a boost for FC Bayern Munich.

Herbert Hainer has promised to find a solution for the Bayern women to play more games in the Allianz Arena. This is a hope shared by Georgia Stanway, who expressed her desire for more appearances in the iconic stadium. As the women's Bundesliga season gets underway, FC Bayern Munich will be aiming to make the Allianz Arena their home ground more frequently.
