Dresden Zwinger to Host Three-Day Spectacle with Purple Disco Machine

The Dresden Zwinger, a stunning Baroque masterpiece, will be the stage for a three-day spectacle next year during Pentecost 2026. The renowned DJ Purple Disco Machine has been announced as the headliner for these unique concerts, which aim to showcase the venue's exquisite architecture and promote positive images of Dresden globally.

The Zwinger, reopened in 2023 after extensive renovation work, has already demonstrated its potential as a unique event location. Last year, it hosted three sold-out performances by Purple Disco Machine, turning the Elbe embankment and Zwinger into a large dance and concert venue.

In preparation for the upcoming concerts, several precautions will be taken to protect the venue. The grass on the castle grounds will be covered, and water basins will be closed off. Security personnel will secure stairs and terraces that are not to be used, and certain distances from the buildings will be regulated.

The combination of modern music and Dresden architecture is expected to create a unique overall experience. The concerts at the Zwinger are intended to highlight the Baroque backdrop of the venue, offering a rare blend of history and contemporary music.

Approximately 9,000 guests are expected per evening during these concerts. The Zwinger inner courtyard will be open for exhibitions and museums before the concert admission, but will be closed from the start of the concert admission during Pentecost 2026.

A spokesperson for the castle grounds expressed their excitement for the upcoming event, stating that they are looking forward to the three-day spectacle. The Zwinger has already produced a live stream with Purple Disco Machine from the Semper Opera, giving a taste of the unique experience that awaits.

The goal is to unite the music of Purple Disco Machine with the Baroque backdrop of the Zwinger, creating an unforgettable event that will undoubtedly leave a lasting impression on Dresden and its visitors. Detailed planning for these concerts is still ongoing, but one thing is certain: the Dresden Zwinger is set to host an extraordinary event next year.
