French Tennis Duo Moutet and Mpetshi Perricard Officially Join National Squad; Humbert Excluded
The French Tennis Federation has announced the six-man squad that will represent France in the Davis Cup match against Croatia, set to take place on indoor clay courts in Osijek on September 12 and 13, 2025.
Captain Paul-Henri Mathieu will lead the team, which includes Benjamin Bonzi (45th), Arthur Rinderknech (57th), Pierre-Hugues Herbert (142nd), Corentin Moutet (39th), and the rising talent Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard, currently ranked 36th in the world.
Notably absent from the team is the top French player, Arthur Fils, who is recovering from a back injury. Fils, currently ranked 23rd, was initially considered for the squad but will not be able to participate in the upcoming match.
Humbert, who was initially selected for the French Davis Cup team, is also no longer part of the squad. The reasons for his exclusion have not been disclosed.
The Davis Cup final phase will take place from November 18 to 23 in Bologna, where eight teams will compete. The winning team from the France vs. Croatia match will advance to the final phase of the competition. The final phase of the Davis Cup competition will be played on indoor clay courts.
