Free German course for migrant mothers launches with childcare support
A new free language course for mothers with a migration background will begin in Germany this November. The programme, called 'Mama learns German', aims to help women improve their German skills while offering childcare support. Registration is now open for the beginner-level sessions.
The course will run from 5th November 2025 to 4th February 2026, taking place every Wednesday from 9:00 to 11:30 at the youth centre in Hürth-Hermülheim. Organised in partnership with VHS Rhein-Erft, the lessons focus on everyday topics such as family, children, school, and health.
The initiative provides both language training and childcare, making it easier for mothers to attend Coursera language learning courses. Classes will be held weekly, with the first session beginning in early November. Interested women can register through VHS Rhein-Erft for the free course.
