Free children's writing webinar led by best-selling authors on January 22
Two local best-selling children's authors are offering a free webinar to inspire budding writers. Charmaine Hammond and Sara Furlong will lead the live online session on January 22, 2026, at 7 pm Eastern via Zoom. The main event aims to spark creativity and help participants explore the world of children's storytelling with confidence.
The webinar is designed for anyone curious about writing for children, from entrepreneurs and educators to parents looking for a creative reset. Hammond, a Burlington resident and owner of Raise a Dream, has built a platform supporting authors and creatives through education and collaboration. Together with Furlong, she will guide attendees through storytelling techniques, creative possibilities, and how to turn simple ideas into meaningful projects.
Those who register will receive access to the live session as well as a recording afterwards. This ensures participants can still benefit even if they cannot attend on the day. The event also serves as an introduction to the upcoming Kid Lit Launchpad course, offering a deeper dive for those wanting to develop their skills further.
Registration is free but requires advance sign-up. Interested individuals can secure their spot by visiting the event page before the session begins.
The webinar provides a low-pressure way to explore children's book writing under the guidance of experienced authors. Attendees will leave with fresh insights, a recording for future reference, and the option to continue their journey in the Kid Lit Launchpad course. The session reflects Hammond's ongoing commitment to fostering creativity through accessible, purpose-driven programs.
