Frankfurt’s Pride Parade Welcomes Firefighters with a Sweet Twist on August 10

Frankfurt’s Christopher Street Day (CSD) will run from August 8 to 11, with the main parade taking place on Saturday, August 10. The event, a global celebration of LGBTQ+ rights and visibility, was rescheduled due to clashes with the UEFA European Football Championship. This year, the Offenbach Fire Department will join the march with a decorated fire truck, handing out ice pops to participants along the route.

The Offenbach Fire Department’s involvement in the parade follows a concept first developed by their team. Their fire truck, named Löschwasser (Firewater), will be stationed near Frankfurt’s Römerberg square from 11 a.m. on August 10. Around 20 firefighters and staff members will take part, distributing free ice pops to crowds as a gesture of solidarity.

The fire department’s presence at CSD Frankfurt marks a public commitment to inclusivity. Their decorated truck and ice pop giveaway will add to the event’s festive atmosphere while reinforcing the call for acceptance. The parade on August 10 remains the centrepiece of this year’s celebrations.
