Frankfurt's A3 Autobahn faces temporary shutdown due to a traffic collision

Last night, around 22:15, a traffic accident occurred on the A3 motorway near Frankfurt. The accident involved five vehicles, resulting in debris scattered across the road and the temporary closure of the motorway.

According to the Frankfurt Police Headquarters, the cause of the accident was a 20-year-old driver of a Corvette who was reportedly driving at high speed. After bouncing off the barrier, the Corvette hit the rear of a passing VW, causing a chain reaction that involved three other vehicles.

As a result of the accident, two drivers—a 20-year-old and a 50-year-old—sustained light injuries. Thankfully, there were no reports of serious injuries or fatalities.

Following the accident, one lane was reopened on the motorway after a few minutes, and the motorway was reopened entirely after the debris was cleared and the non-roadworthy vehicles were removed.

A nearby bridge was slightly damaged by debris from the accident, but experts inspected the bridge and confirmed that there was never any danger to its structure.
