Guillermo del Toro's long-awaited film adaptation of Mary Shelley's classic tale, titled Frankenstein, had its world premiere during the 82nd Venice Film Festival on Saturday night. The star-studded event took place inside Sala Grande on the Lido.

The film, set to have a limited theatrical release on October 17, tells the story of Victor Frankenstein, portrayed by Oscar Isaac, who brings a creature, played by Jacob Elordi, to life in an experiment. The film is a lifelong passion project for del Toro, who felt a strong connection to the Gothic horror genre after seeing James Whale's Frankenstein films at the age of 7.

The premiere was a glamorous affair, attracting A-list celebrities such as Mia Goth, Christoph Waltz, Felix Kammerer, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Kaitlyn Dever, Jesse Williams, Jessica Williams, Sofia Carson, and a host of Netflix's top executives, including Ted Sarandos, Dan Lin, and former Netflix film chief Scot Stuber.

The film's composer, Alexandre Desplat, added an extra layer of suspense and drama to the already tense narrative. The audience's anticipation was palpable as they watched the story unfold on the big screen.

The response was overwhelming, with the film receiving a 14-minute standing ovation at its premiere. The audience was captivated by del Toro's vision and the stellar performances from the cast.

Frankenstein will be available for global streaming on Netflix on November 7, giving fans worldwide a chance to experience this cinematic masterpiece. With its hauntingly beautiful visuals, gripping storyline, and a talented ensemble cast, Frankenstein is set to be one of the must-watch films of the year.
