Forward-thinking Startups Sought for the 2023 Hamburg Award

The vibrant Hamburg startup ecosystem is gearing up for the Future Hamburg Award 2023, a prestigious event that recognises and supports innovative startups focusing on sustainability and quality of life. This annual award, launched in 2018 by Hamburg News, future.hamburg, and Hamburg Invest, is a significant milestone for the city's technology- and knowledge-based startups.

The Startup City Hamburg platform, a central point of contact for these startups, plays a crucial role in making the Hamburg startup location more visible nationally and internationally. This digital hub provides an overview of startups based in Hamburg, funding offers, and networking opportunities, aiming to foster growth and collaboration within the ecosystem.

This year, the award ceremony will take place on October 5 at the international Plug and Play Expo in the Hamburg Factory Hammerbrooklyn. The main partner of this year's support program is the Plug and Play Tech Center, a renowned Silicon Valley-based accelerator.

The competition is open to international and national startups that have been on the market for at least two and a maximum of four years, with business models in logistics, mobility, and green tech. The deadline for applications is July 9, 2023.

The jury of experts, including Dr. Ralf Belusa, Petra Vorsteher, Georg Zembacher, and Veronika Reichboth, among others, will evaluate the applications. The winners will be announced on October 5, with the first prize being a one-month stay in Silicon Valley and participation in an international accelerator program at Plug and Play.

The second prize includes a mentoring program with an experienced expert in technology innovations and a pitch training. The third prize includes an individual 'Corporate Readiness Workshop' with Plug and Play and the opportunity to participate in a startup pitch training.

Hamburg Invest, responsible for the marketing of municipal commercial and industrial areas, offers diverse service offers for small and medium-sized enterprises. They serve as a one-stop agency for settlements and investments in Hamburg, acting as the central partner of the Hamburg economy for all topics of economic promotion.
