Formula One podium and trophy crushed!
In a thrilling race at the Zandvoort Circuit, Isack Hadjar secured his first podium finish in Formula 1, marking a significant milestone in his career.
Hadjar, who currently drives for Bulls Racing, did not attempt an attack on Max Verstappen during the race. Instead, he focused on maintaining his position, keeping George Russell, Charles Leclerc, and Lewis Hamilton at bay for the entire 72 laps.
The French driver's determination paid off, as he finished in third place, a result he described as "magical" over the team radio. This achievement also marked the best result for Bulls Racing since Pierre Gasly finished third in the 2021 Azerbaijan Grand Prix.
Following his impressive performance, Hadjar became the youngest French Formula 1 driver to stand on the podium. His achievement did not go unnoticed, with racing legends such as Alain Prost and Ayrton Senna's former teammate, Alain Prost, congratulating him on his success.
Laurent Mekies, Red Bull's team principal, also praised Hadjar's performance, expressing his belief that the young driver has a bright future ahead. However, it is worth noting that Hadjar has not yet received the official Red Bull Racing driver designation. This accolade is expected to be finalized and ready for the 2026 Formula 1 season, when he may join the elite Red Bull team.
Unfortunately, Hadjar's trophy broke apart after the podium ceremony. A replacement will take time, as it requires three days for the artists of the Dutch traditional company Royal Delft to paint the ceramic trophy.
Despite this minor setback, Hadjar's spirits remained high. He learned from his Melbourne crash during the start of the season that "such things happen and that you have to get back up quickly."
Max Verstappen, who finished second in the race, took to social media to congratulate Hadjar on his first podium finish. The Dutch driver also praised Hadjar's driving and the team's performance, expressing his excitement for the future of Formula 1.
Team principal Alan Permane also congratulated Hadjar, calling his performance "absolutely phenomenal." With such accolades pouring in, it is clear that Isack Hadjar's career in Formula 1 is off to a promising start.
Rumors suggest that Hadjar might drive alongside Verstappen next year, but the young driver jokingly expressed his dislike for the idea. Regardless, fans are eagerly waiting to see what the future holds for this promising talent.
