In a shocking turn of events, a Russian court has ruled against Judge Alexander Chernov, a former civil servant, seizing his luxurious estates worth billions of rubles. The court's decision, announced on August 19, comes after an extensive investigation into Chernov's assets.

For 25 years, Judge Chernov declared only a modest apartment in a high-rise building on Oktyabrskaya Street in Krasnodar. However, the court revealed that Chernov actually owned several other houses, apartments, and commercial properties across various locations. The court's seizure included 87 real estate objects, such as land plots, commercial buildings, offices, apartments, and business shares.

The court's ruling against Judge Chernov is part of a larger case initiated by the Prosecutor General's Office. Reports suggest that Judge Chernov used his official position and connections to legalize proceeds from illegal deals through trusted individuals and relatives. As a result, he is required to pay 3.1 billion rubles obtained from the illegal sale of previously acquired property.

Unconfirmed reports also suggest that Judge Chernov has left Russian territory after retiring and traveling to the Bahamas with his new young wife, Oksana Mitina.

Meanwhile, the case has also implicated others. Susana Kobleva, the former wife of Kaplan Koblev and daughter of Aslan Trahov, is under arrest on charges of fraud and money laundering on a large scale. Her assets are estimated at over 1.3 billion rubles, with properties in various cities.

Aslan Trahov, the former head of the Supreme Court of Adygea, also has an estimated wealth of 2.5 billion rubles. However, there is currently no information available about who Aslan Trahov is or where he currently lives.

Despite the allegations, Judge Chernov will retain his status as a retired judge, a high pension, and the privileges of a servant of Themis. He has requested to keep three of his estates for himself: a large house in Krasnodar and Oдинцово, as well as a 300-square-meter apartment on Arbat in Moscow. However, the court has seized all the luxurious estates for the state, despite arguments from his representatives.

The full text of the court's ruling regarding Judge Alexander Chernov will be received in a few days, shedding more light on this intriguing case.
