VfB Stuttgart Bolsters Attack with New Signings

Algerian footballer Badredine Bouanani has joined VfB Stuttgart, becoming the sixth new signing this summer for the German club. Bouanani, who has international experience in European competitions despite his young age, has expressed his happiness to be at the club and appreciates the style of football played by VfB Stuttgart.

The transfer of Bouanani did not involve a reported 20 million euros transfer fee, as previously mentioned. Fabian Wohlgemuth, the sporting director of VfB Stuttgart, stated that Bouanani is versatile in attack and his style of play gives the club additional options for their attack.

Bouanani has followed the Bundesliga in France and his contract with VfB Stuttgart lasts until 2030. The Algerian forward has been a standout player in his home country and is expected to bring energy and creativity to the VfB Stuttgart attack.

In addition to Bouanani, VfB Stuttgart is reportedly close to signing South Korean striker Hyeon-gyu Oh from KRC Genk. The transfer fee for Oh is reported to be around 20 million euros plus bonuses, and his medical is scheduled for Monday.

Leicester City's Bilal El Khannouss is set to join VfB Stuttgart on loan with an option to buy for 25 million euros. The two additional players likely joining VfB Stuttgart, besides Oh and El Khannouss, are Lorenz Assignon and Noah Darvich. Other new signings include Lazar Jovanovic, Chema Andres, and Tiago Tomás. These players were brought in to refresh the squad for the 2025/26 season.

However, the club has suffered a setback with Deniz Undav sustaining a possible serious knee injury in the game against Borussia Mönchengladbach. The extent of Undav's injury is yet to be determined, but it is a significant blow for VfB Stuttgart as he has been a key player for the club in recent seasons.

Meanwhile, Nick Woltemade has departed to Newcastle United for up to 90 million euros, marking a significant transfer fee for the young Dutch midfielder. VfB Stuttgart will look to replace Woltemade's influence in the team as they continue to build for the future.
