Football icon Ray Lewis critiques Shannon Sharpe's online character and transition into gossip-centered journalism

Ray Lewis, the legendary Baltimore Ravens linebacker, and Shannon Sharpe, the former Denver Broncos tight end turned TV personality, have found themselves at odds in the world of media.

Lewis, who is also a businessman, philanthropist, motivational speaker, New York Times bestselling author, and co-host of the PBD Podcast, recently expressed his shock about the content that Sharpe releases. In an appearance on the PBD Podcast, he criticised the talk show culture that Sharpe has embraced, which can be controversial at times.

Sharpe, on the other hand, has found success in his post-NFL career. He currently co-hosts the Nightcap podcast with Chad 'Ochocino' Johnson, and runs his own brand, including his cognac label 'Le Portier'. His career continued to rise as he became a TV personality and podcaster.

Their feud began when Sharpe was relieved of his duties at ESPN before his brother Sterling was inducted into the Hall of Fame. This was followed by a speech that Sharpe gave about Lewis ahead of Super Bowl XXXV, which Lewis only recently acknowledged 24 years later.

The criticism by Lewis came as a surprise to many, given his own successful transition into a media role, including being an analyst for Inside the NFL on Showtime and Fox Sports.

The announcement of Cam Newton as Sharpe's replacement on ESPN's First Take has drawn mixed opinions from fans. Newton will be alongside Stephen A. Smith, Chris 'Mad Dog' Russo, and host Molly Qerim on the popular sports talk show.

Meanwhile, the NFL is currently ranking the top 10 quarterbacks, wide receivers, running backs, and tight ends of all-time. With the focus on football greatness, the feud between Lewis and Sharpe seems to be taking a backseat for now.

Despite their differences, both Lewis and Sharpe have made significant contributions to the world of sports and media. Their feud, however, serves as a reminder of the passionate and often unpredictable nature of the sports world.
