Foot Locker Takes Over NBA All-Star Weekend with Exclusive Sneaker Drops
Foot Locker is set to host a major event at the NBA All-Star Game in San Francisco from February 13 to 16. The four-day activation will take over a 34,000-square-foot, two-level space in Union Square. Top NBA players, including Anthony Edwards, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, and Jayson Tatum, will make appearances during the weekend. The event will feature product launches, customisation stations, and an experiential LED court called The Clinic. Among the new releases are the Nike Kobe VI 'ASW', the Jordan Retro 12 'Flu Game', and an exclusive colourway of the Adidas Anthony Edwards 1 Mid. Brands like Nike, Jordan, Adidas, Puma, Converse, Crocs, Anta, and New Era Cap will all take part.
Foot Locker has promoted the weekend through billboards, street teams, digital trucks, and influencer partnerships. This marks the second year of activations under the retailer's multiyear deal with the NBA. Other confirmed players include Cade Cunningham, Paolo Banchero, Chet Holmgren, and Tyrese Maxey. The event comes as Foot Locker continues to refresh its store concept, with eight redesigned locations planned for 2024. However, the company reported a 1.4% drop in sales for the third quarter, partly due to weaker demand from its largest partner, Nike.
The San Francisco activations will run alongside the NBA All-Star Game, offering fans access to exclusive products and player interactions. Foot Locker's partnership with the league remains a key part of its marketing strategy, despite recent sales challenges. The event aims to draw attention to both new store designs and upcoming sneaker releases.
