Food, music, and family-friendly activities return to Old Town North on September 18th.
On Thursday, September 18, from 4 to 8 p.m., the annual Taste of Old Town North event will take place at Montgomery Park, located at 900 North Royal Street. This event, presented by the Old Town North Community Partnership in partnership with the city's Department of Recreation, Parks, and Cultural Affairs, promises a delightful evening of local restaurant tastings, live music, and family-friendly activities.
Mayor Alyia Gaskins expressed her excitement, stating that the event celebrates and creates a welcoming atmosphere for all who live, work, own small businesses, or come out to play in the diverse neighborhoods of Old Town North. Vice Mayor Sarah Bagley will speak at the event, adding to the community spirit.
Participating restaurants include Jula's on the Potomac, Hank's Oyster Bar, MacMillan Spirit and Ale House, Hank's Pasta Bar, Hotel AKA Alexandria's a.lounge+bar, and St. Elmo's Old Town North Coffee Pub. These establishments will offer a variety of delicious treats for attendees to enjoy.
Musical performances will be given by Hope and Nate from 5 to 6 p.m., followed by The Mod from 6 to 7:45 p.m. The City of Alexandria's Mobile Art Lab will also be on-site, offering art supplies and activities for children.
Several local nonprofits, including League of Women Voters, Alive!, Housing Alexandria, Alexandria Film Festival, Alexandria Seaport Foundation, North Old Town Independent Citizens Association, and Volunteer Alexandria, will provide information about volunteer opportunities at the event.
Street parking is available in the neighborhood, with public parking available at 625 North Washington Street.
