In a closely contested match, VfB Stuttgart emerged victorious against Borussia Mönchengladbach in the Bundesliga, securing a 1:0 victory. The winning goal was scored by Chema Andrés in the 79th minute.

The offensive performance of Stuttgart has been somewhat affected by the departure of Nick Woltemade to Newcastle United, but the team managed to find a solution with the signing of several new players. VfB Stuttgart bolstered their squad with the arrivals of Badredine Bouanani (from OGC Nizza), Tiago Tomas (from VfL Wolfsburg), Lorenz Assignon (from Stade Rennes), Lazar Jovanovic (from Red Star), Chema Andres (from Real Madrid), Noah Darvich (from FC Barcelona), and Bilal El Khannouss (on loan with a mandatory purchase for 25 million € from Leicester City).

Jamie Leweling, a player for Stuttgart, commented on the situation regarding Woltemade, stating that it was good for both sides. Despite the changes, the team's defence showed resilience, with Moritz Nicolas blocking Tiago Tomás' best chance of the first half.

Lukas Ullrich had a promising shooting opportunity in the game, but his shot went too high. The opposition, Borussia Mönchengladbach, lacked the necessary punch to score their first goal of the season.

The departure of Woltemade was a significant one, with the transfer fee reaching up to 90 million euros, a record for the Stuttgart club. However, the club received no transfer fee for Woltemade as he was signed by Newcastle United from Werder Bremen.

Alexander Wehrle, the board chairman of VfB Stuttgart, expressed understanding of the need for more reinforcements, as stated by coach Hoeneß. Wehrle mentioned that it's not like they're starting from scratch in their search for reinforcements, and he appeared calm about the pressing time for finding solutions.

The match was not without its challenges, as Deniz Undav, a player for Stuttgart, had to be substituted due to a knee injury in the early stages of the game. Despite this setback, the team showed determination and resilience, ultimately securing a well-deserved victory.

Wehrle is confident that they will present good solutions by the end of the transfer period, ensuring that Stuttgart continues to compete at the top level. The victory against Borussia Mönchengladbach serves as a promising start to the season for the newly reinforced team.
