Ryan Williams, the star receiver for Alabama, left the season-opening game against Florida State in the fourth quarter due to a concussion. The game, played on Saturday, marked the beginning of the 2022 college football season for both teams.

Last season, Williams was a standout player for the Crimson Tide. He scored a team-high eight touchdowns and rushed for two more. His passing game was equally impressive, as he caught 48 passes for a total of 865 yards, with the longest gain being 11 yards.

During the game against Florida State, Williams had five receptions, but a crucial moment occurred in the fourth quarter. While attempting to catch a pass, two Seminoles were in the vicinity. After dropping the ball, Williams received a blow to the head, resulting in the concussion.

Earl Little Jr. was initially called for targeting, but the ruling was reviewed and overturned. Despite the incident, Williams left the field and did not return to the contest.

The game ended with a score of 31-17 in favour of Florida State. The medical team or physician assigned by the home team's staff will examine Williams before the home game against UL Monroe. Head coach Kalen DeBoer stated that Williams will be evaluated leading up to next week's match.

As the team and fans await Williams' recovery, they will undoubtedly be hoping for a swift return to form for the talented receiver.
