Florida and Nevada Top US States for 'Gold Diggers', Study Finds

A recent study by SplitUp app has revealed the top states in the US with the highest concentrations of 'gold diggers'. Florida and Nevada top the list, with scores of 8.24 out of 10 on the 'gold-digger index'. Following closely are Texas, California, and New York.

The study, which considered factors such as millionaire and billionaire per capita, online searches for terms like 'sugar daddy' and 'marry rich', dating app behaviors, average income, and cost of living, found that Florida and Nevada have the most 'financially-incentivized dating' cultures. Miami and Las Vegas, in particular, are epicenters of this trend, with luxury lifestyles and visible wealth heavily influencing partner choices.

Contrary to stereotypes, the trend is not necessarily about exploitation, according to dating experts. Instead, it reflects the influence of wealth on dating dynamics in states with booming real estate markets and high-visibility wealth. Meanwhile, rural states like Maine, Wyoming, Montana, Nebraska, and Vermont are at the bottom of the list, prioritizing wealth less in a partner.

The study highlights the significant role wealth plays in dating cultures across the US. While Florida and Nevada lead the way in 'gold digger' concentrations, the trend is not isolated to these states. Understanding these dynamics can provide valuable insights into the diverse dating landscapes across the country.
