New Floating Restaurant and Multipurpose Park Open in Koderma, Jharkhand

Koderma, a district in the Indian state of Jharkhand, is set to become a popular tourist destination with the opening of a new floating restaurant and a multipurpose park.

The floating restaurant, located on the Tilaiya Dam in the district, was inaugurated by Sudivya Kumar, Jharkhand's Minister for Urban Development, Sports, and Tourism. The restaurant, commissioned from a specialist manufacturer based in Varanasi, can seat up to 25 guests at a time and is part of a larger push to develop Tilaiya Dam into a tourism hub.

Diners can expect a curated menu of regional cuisine once bookings open in early September. The restaurant is poised to become another attraction for visitors and is being positioned as a multi-use venue suitable for various events.

The park, spanning six acres, was also opened on the same day. Built at a cost of INR 2.38 crore, the park is expected to serve as a green space and recreational zone.

Koderma, once known as the "Mica Capital of India," has a rich cultural history. The Tomb of Saint Paramhans Baba remains an important spiritual site, and Jhumri Telaiya, known for its surge of radio song requests in the 1950s, adds a quirky cultural footnote to the district.

Nature lovers can explore the Satagawan Petro Falls, Dhwajadhari Hills, and Makamaro Hills. The peaceful lakeside views offered by the Tilaiya Dam provide a serene backdrop for these natural wonders.

The twin developments are expected to spur tourism in the region and create local employment opportunities. Nearby areas are already seeing a rise in interest from hospitality and service businesses due to these developments.

In addition to the restaurant and park, Koderma offers a green retreat in the Koderma Reserve Forest. The district's unique blend of history, culture, and natural beauty make it an appealing destination for tourists.
