In the heart of Cordoba, a significant fire broke out on Cantueso Street in the Poniente Norte area, spreading rapidly and affecting numerous homes and facilities. The blaze, which initially affected pastures, quickly grew and threatened the safety of nearby residential blocks, including El Patriarca and surrounding urbanizations.

The fire department, Infoca, was promptly alerted at 16:20 hours, with a neighbour's report of a column of smoke in the El Patriarca and Cantueso Street area. In response, Infoca deployed aerial resources, including a helicopter and two water-dropping aircraft, as well as three fire-fighting groups and an engine, to assist in extinguishing efforts. Local Police, National Police, and Firefighters were also dispatched to the scene.

The fire, which came dangerously close to residential blocks, sparked concerns among the community. To ensure the safety of the residents, around 500 people and 110 homes and facilities were evacuated. The fire's rapid spread was a cause for concern, but Infoca's quick response and coordinated efforts managed to contain the blaze.

The fire is situated near a peri-urban park, adding to the complexity of the situation. The fire department's operation gave the all-clear and withdrew resources deployed since early afternoon, signifying the successful control and extinguishing of the flames.

The investigation into the cause of the fire is currently ongoing. The files related to the fire that burned 84 hectares in the La Albaida area on July 22 were sent earlier this week by the Seprona to the Cordoba Public Prosecutor's Office. However, the public prosecutor responsible for the investigation of the arson in the La Albaida region has not been specifically named in the available search results.

Pilar García-Baquero, a resident of Cordoba, is closely following the developments in this incident. The community is hopeful that the investigation will provide answers and ensure such incidents do not occur in the future. As the situation remains under control, the focus now shifts towards rebuilding and supporting those affected by the fire.
