Conference League Group Stage Schedules Announced for Shelbourne and Shamrock Rovers
The Conference League group stages for Irish teams Shelbourne and Shamrock Rovers have been announced, setting the stage for an exciting three-month journey as both teams aim to progress in Europe's third tier competition.
Shelbourne's campaign kicks off at home against BK Hacken on October 2nd at 8pm, followed by an away trip to KF Shkendija on October 23rd at 5.45pm. The Irish side will then travel to AZ Alkmaar in the Netherlands on November 27th at 5.45pm, before hosting FC Drita on November 6th at 8pm.
The Green Army will also face Breidablik away on December 11th at 5.45pm, and will host NK Celje on December 18th at 8pm. A significant highlight of Shelbourne's schedule is the home game against English Premier League side Crystal Palace on December 11th, and their game against Hamrun Spartans, also at home, on December 18th.
Meanwhile, Shamrock Rovers begin their journey away to Sparta Prague on October 2nd. They will host Shakhtar Donetsk in Dublin on November 27th, and travel to AEK Athens on November 6th. Among other fixtures, the Hoops will face Celje at home on October 23rd, and will play away against Breiðablik, Universitatea Craiova, and Rijeka.
Both teams are expected to play their games at Tallaght Stadium, with eight teams progressing straight to the last 16, and 16 teams advancing to the knockout phase playoffs. The Conference League group stage is a competitive mix, featuring teams such as Fiorentina, Dynamo Kyiv, BK Häcken, AEK Larnaca, Breiðablik, Drita, AZ, Noah, Legia Warsaw, Jagiellonia Białystok, Rayo Vallecano, Shkëndija, Slovan Bratislava, Samsunspor, AEK Athens, Sparta Prague, Aberdeen, Strasbourg, Hamrun Spartans, Shakhtar Donetsk, Rijeka, Celje, Lech Poznań, Mainz 05, KuPS, Lausanne-Sport, Lincoln Red Imps, Sigma Olomouc, Raków Częstochowa, Zrinjski Mostar, Crystal Palace, Rapid Wien, and Omonia.
