Firehouse Subs Offers $500K Bonuses to Fuel Rapid Franchise Growth

Firehouse Subs has launched a new Development Incentive Program to speed up its global expansion. The brand, which already operates over 1,400 locations worldwide, is offering financial rewards to franchisees who open multiple restaurants. The move comes as the company pushes for steady growth across North America and beyond. The programme includes several tiers of incentives. Franchisees opening a single restaurant can receive $75,000, while those opening two or more will get $100,000 per location. A separate 10 in 2 Incentive offers $100,000 for each new restaurant, plus a $500,000 bonus if at least 10 units are developed by 2027 and 2028.

For operators in priority markets, the Accelerated Market Incentive provides $150,000 per opening and a 2% royalty reduction for three years—if they develop at least three restaurants. Meanwhile, the Grow A-Gain Incentive targets existing high-performing franchisees, offering $150,000 per restaurant for those with an 'A' grade who commit to opening at least two new locations by 2028.

The company has seen strong growth in recent years, with 1,233 units in the U.S. alone by the end of 2024. Beyond North America, Firehouse Subs plans to open 200 locations in Mexico by 2028 through a new development agreement and its existing franchise strategy.

Mike Hancock, president of Firehouse Subs, described the programme as unique, designed to reward the brand's top franchisees while maintaining a 'strategic and sustainable pace' of expansion. Unlike previous years, this version includes additional bonuses for meeting specific criteria. The new incentives reflect a broader trend in the industry, where franchise development programmes have grown more competitive. Firehouse Subs now offers some of the most generous rewards to encourage rapid but controlled expansion. The company's focus remains on strengthening its presence in key markets while supporting long-term growth.
