Firefighters successfully contained numerous blazes from expanding throughout Dormagen during a single night.
Firefighters in Dormagen Contain Multiple Blazes on August 26-27
On the night of Tuesday, 26th August, the Dormagen Fire Department was called to action as they responded to multiple fire incidents across the city. The night proved to be a busy one for the firefighters, with incidents reported in Horrem, Zonser Street, and Hackenbroich.
The first incident occurred at approximately 11:30 PM in Horrem, where a car fire was reported on "Am Stellwerk". Firefighters from the full-time station and the Mitte fire brigade quickly arrived on the scene and managed to extinguish the flames.
Shortly after, at around 11:48 PM, another vehicle was on fire near Zonser Street. The fire department responded promptly, and with the help of the local fire brigade from Zonser Street, the flames were brought under control.
The most significant incident of the night occurred at around 12:36 AM, when a fire broke out involving several carts and containers on the outer facade of a business building in Hackenbroich. The fire department, along with additional forces from Hackenbroich, Delhoven, Straberg, and Mitte, worked tirelessly to contain the blaze. Firefighters were able to prevent the fire from spreading to the business premises and the apartment above, thanks to their quick actions.
A total of around 30 firefighters were deployed to handle the fire incidents, with other deployment forces checking the apartment on the upper floor in Hackenbroich to ensure it was safe.
The fire department completed the final measures and stood down the watch at around 1:40 AM, bringing an end to a busy night for the Dormagen Fire Department. Despite the numerous incidents, no one was injured in any of the fires.
