Firefighters of Mechernich participate in the annual well festival celebration
On August 10, 2025, the city of Mechernich, founded in 1972, celebrated its 50th anniversary in a unique way. The Volunteer Fire Department Mechernich organised an impressive vehicle exhibition as part of the festivities.
The exhibition allowed visitors to learn about the technology and possible uses of the emergency vehicles on display. The fire stations from Mechernich, Strempt, Weyer, Obergartzem, and Satzvey showcased their vehicles, attracting a large crowd.
The turntable ladder and the all-terrain ATV, both displayed by the Mechernich fire station, were particularly popular among visitors. The LF KatS vehicle from the Weyer fire station also drew a lot of attention, with many guests asking questions and chatting with the volunteer emergency forces about its features.
Visitors had the opportunity to inspect the vehicles from the inside, gaining a better understanding of their functions and capabilities. The fire station Strempt operated a bar on the fountain square, providing refreshing drinks for visitors to enjoy while they explored the exhibition.
The volunteer fire department thanks all visitors for their interest in their vehicles and the work they do. They encourage anyone with further inquiries to send an email to [email protected].
The festival, while not specifying a location, was undoubtedly a success, bringing the community together to celebrate Mechernich's milestone anniversary and the important work of the volunteer fire department.
