Fire Destruction in Vegesack

In Vegesack on Sunday, a fire broke out at an abandoned building on Breite Straße. The incident, which occurred around 1:20 PM, caused significant property damage but thankfully, no injuries were reported.

According to police reports, a group of teenagers and adults were observed staying inside the building before dark smoke and fire erupted. However, only two individuals were detained—a 15-year-old girl and a 19-year-old man. The arrests were made following a good description of the suspects.

The 15-year-old girl was temporarily detained and later handed over to her legal guardians. The 19-year-old man was taken to the police station for further questioning.

The fire department was promptly called to extinguish the flames, and they successfully managed to put out the fire. Investigations have revealed that the fire was set to the porch of the abandoned building, and a criminal complaint for arson has been filed against the arrested individuals.

Witnesses reported seeing the group of suspects on the porch of the building before the fire started. Dark smoke began to rise from the building after the group left, quickly developing into a fire.

The arson case is currently under investigation, and police are seeking additional witnesses. Further investigations aim to uncover the circumstances leading to the fire and identify any other individuals involved.

The community is urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities. The police assure the public that they are committed to bringing those responsible for this incident to justice.
