Fines issued to individuals venturing to the frozen river crossings near Yakutsk past the designated closing time
In the city of Yakutsk, emergency services, traffic police, and the Yakutsk City Administration are conducting preventive raids to ensure the safety of its residents. The Lower Bestyakh ice crossing was officially closed on April 15, and moving along the ice crossing within the city of Yakutsk is now prohibited. The preventive raids are being carried out by the Russian EMERCOM, the Emergency Management Department of the city of Yakutsk, traffic police inspectors, and the Yakutsk City Administration.
All necessary road signs are installed at the entrances to the ice crossings to indicate their closure.
