Financial assistance of EUR 25 million earmarked towards a greener hospitality sector in Saarland - Innovative aid program unveiled
In a bid to bolster the competitiveness of Saarland's hospitality sector in the long run, the state government has launched a new funding program worth 25 million euros. This initiative, under the auspices of Economy Minister Jürgen Barke, is designed to promote an environmentally conscious future for the industry.
The program's primary focus is on investments that save resources in the long term and improve environmental balance. Eligible applicants are businesses that have been active in the market for at least two years, are based in Saarland, and employ at least two full-time staff.
The funding targets small and medium-sized enterprises in gastronomy and hospitality, including family-run country inns and modern city hotels. Examples of eligible investments include energy-efficient renovations, installation of energy-efficient equipment and lighting, charging stations for electric vehicles, measures for greening buildings, creating barrier-free access, and other investments that contribute to sustainability.
