Discover the Rich History of Altenritte and Großenritte with the Rittahe 2025 Discovery Trail

From now until May 25, 2025, the Rittahe 2025 Discovery Trail invites city residents and guests to embark on a historical journey through Altenritte and Großenritte. This unique event is part of the anniversary celebrations for the 1250th anniversary of these two towns, and is a collaborative effort between the City of Kassel, the Heimatverein Altenritte e.V., and the Geschichtsverein Großenritte.

The trail offers a fascinating blend of almost forgotten stories, historical background information, and interactive experiences. At 17 different stations, you'll find exciting activities, puzzles, and play and crafting offers that will engage and educate you about the rich history of these towns.

One of the most popular parts of the trail is the "Ten Things Along the Way" exhibit, where participants find and compare objects that don't belong in the forest with a provided list. To access the trail, simply use your phone's camera to scan a QR code to access the trail as an image on your smartphone.

The closing festival for the Rittahe 2025 Discovery Trail will take place on May 25, 2025, at the AWO Familienbildungsstätte in Großenritte. The event, themed "Back to Grandma's Times", will start at 2 pm and will include tractor rides and interactive stations from "back in the day".
