Festival showcasing triathlon events held in Dubna
In the heart of Russia, the city of Dubna played host to a thrilling triathlon event last week. The competition, which involved swimming, cycling, and running, attracted athletes from 57 cities, with participants ranging in age from 18 to 88 years old.
The swim portion of the event took place in the picturesque Volga river, with all participants required to wear wetsuits due to the water temperature, which was between 16.0-17.9°C. The cycling race saw athletes pedal through the streets of Dubna, while the run took place along Mendelievskaya embankment.
Traffic was restricted on several streets in the city to ensure the safety of the participants and spectators. The event was a spectacle to behold, with numerous photographs taken by Dmitry Lebedev capturing the athletes in various stages of the race.
At the finish line, the winners, Dmitry Sergeev and Maxim Andreyev, were photographed after the award ceremony, their faces glowing with the thrill of victory. A female participant was also captured in one of the photographs, a testament to the event's inclusivity.
Despite the excitement, information about the specific nature or purpose of the event remains unclear. However, the event's success is undeniable, with the city of Dubna, founded in 1995 (Nikolov Perevoz), providing a stunning backdrop for the competition.
Whether you were there cheering on the athletes or following the event from afar, the triathlon in Dubna was an unforgettable experience. Here's to the next one!
