Fernando Liano triumphs in 2024 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure Main Event

Fernando Liano has won the 2024 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure $5,300 No-Limit Hold'em Main Event. The tournament took place in Paradise Island, Bahamas, from January 21 to 28, drawing 1,610 players and creating a prize pool of $1,080,000. Liano secured the top prize after a decisive hand against Jose Lopez.

The final hand began at Level 24, with blinds at 25,000/50,000. Liano, holding 5♥5♦, opened with a bet of 100,000 from the Hi-jack position. Barbara Jiménez called from the Small Blind, and Jose Lopez, with 10♠8♣, joined from the Big Blind.

The flop came **8♦5♣2♥**, giving Liano a set of fives. Jiménez checked, and Liano bet 75,000. Jiménez called, but Lopez raised to 260,000. Liano called the raise, keeping the action alive. The turn brought the **8♥**, pairing the board. Lopez led out with a bet of 225,000, and Liano called again. On the river (**A♥**), Lopez bet 350,000. Liano responded by moving all-in, putting maximum pressure on his opponent. Facing the shove, Lopez folded his **10♠8♣**, conceding the pot—and the tournament—to Liano.

Liano's victory in the 2024 PCA Main Event earned him the $1,080,000 first-place prize. His previous career winnings stood at €170,435 before this win. The tournament marked his largest cash to date, solidifying his place among this year's high-stakes poker champions.
